Do not upgrade or buy a new contract with sprint even if your a loyal customer of more than 5 years and your device does not work in your area you'll still be forced to pay for your device if not they will charge you $250 and still make you pay your phone which is a ripoff and nobody will be able to help you and they will give you the run around.
