My family had our plan through Ntelos. They merged with Sprint and we were told that we would receive "free" phones since they could not transfer our old ones.

We received the first and second months bills and paid them on time, by the 7th. We receive a notice three days ago stating we owe an additional past due balance of $117. When called the rep explained it was due on the 2nd. They could not answer us when asked how a bill on the second was due, for a different amount, but the bill for the 7th was paid without a mention of a "past due balance".

We receive a bill today for $555. Called customer service to dispute this amount and let them know we have paid a total of $426 in the last two months for a $150 plan. Rep with customer service states the charges are for equipment which happens to be the phones we were told would be free. We are now stuck paying this bill or service will be cancelled.

They will not take the phones back and hung up on us before we could speak to a supervisor. It seems they lie to push so called free equipment only to charge you for it later. Also, seems they bill on the 2nd and 7th of every month for different bogus fees and charges for each bill. None of this was in the contract.

Horrible scam! Beware!

Reason of review: Happy for another reason.

I liked: Unlimited plan.

I didn't like: Dishonest business practices.
