Sprint - They lie an over charge

I wouldnt recommend sprint if it was the ABSOLUTE last phone plan around. They tell you your gonna pay x amount a month with all these benefits an then charge you double what they quoted. They tell you misinformation an lies an you end up being on the phone with them for hours every single month. The second I can pay off our phones we are leaving sprint an never looking back.

User's recommendation: Beware of there lies.

On 2/3/2020, I purchased a phone from Sprint store located at 377 George Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. The contract says I get the phone for 50% off. I was robbed. The phone reg price was $649.99. Dionel A charged me $528.37. He charged $50 to my credit card. He claimed no Mgr was on duty. I went back on 2/4/2020, the male rep said no Mgr was there. I was robbed $258.70. The cost should be $270

Sprint - Absolutely Not!

I'll try to make this short and to the point. On Oct.5 2019 I paid 158.81 to cover Oct.7 to Nov.7. I had 3 phones 2 were owned outright and 1 on lease. A week later or so I noticed the Nov. bill was 201.52. I called to see if someone could lower the bill. No luck and I did try more than once. I looked around and found a better deal for 4 lines unlimited data for 100 even. I paid 350.63 to end the lease on Oct. 22 and switched carriers that same day. I thought I was done. Then I got an email from Sprint saying I owed them 132.05. I thought this is a load of *** I don't owe them anything. Then I got a letter from Sprint saying they may charge my card(s) on Jan.4 2020. And they did. I called again just the other day. I wanted to know what the charge was for. I was told it was to cover the rest of the lease. I said I already paid 350.63. I was told that the Nov. bill of 201.52 came out of the 350.63. I said I switched to another carrier before the end of October. The whole point was to get lower cost phone service. She told me that Sprint does this and most customers are not aware. Sprint customers beware! Shady business practice.

I am a human first before anything. And the word humanity is echoing through my head .

To say to someone who is so upset about being taking advantage of that your glad you took there money and calling them a sucker is sooo disrespectful!! But telling you your gonna burn in *** wouldn't phase you because judging from your comment you dont care. Some day you will care, when you do, it'll be to late.

@PissedConsumer1803862

I’ve, unfortunately, had Sprint for many years. Due to phone leases I can never seem to be done with Sprint and switch to a more reasonable carrier.

Sprint is absurd with all of their taxes and “fees”...I have four lines unlimited and I get charged an administrative fee every month of $15!!! FOR WHAT??

I do everything online. Since you are a “Sprint worker” maybe you can explain the highway robbery of your made up nonsense fees?

Scam Operation Don't Use Sprint

1.0
Details
Sprint is running a lying, theiving scam operation. They enticed my sister and family to sign up for their 5 lines for $100 last month. Will try the short story: Sprint didn't have the phones we wanted in stock, so we ordered 3 of them online for half the price on eBay (they wanted $288 for the Samsung j7 Refine) as we didn't want to lease the phones. They told us we could unlock these phones because we paid for them outright. The other family member purchased the new Cat phone and unfortunately got roped into signing a lease. The other phone was supposed to be a FREE LG phone. A week after signing on, we get a bill for $480! Sprint said that the account wasn't approved for the $100 for 5 lines, which is BS, the account was approved after taking 3 HOURS AT THEIR STORE TO SIGN UP. Also discovered that this FREE LG PHONE was on a lease plan, NOT FREE. We stated that we didn't want any leased phones accept the Cat phone. They also added charges for gaming programs, insurance, things we never signed up for. I've never seen a phone company operate in this manner. After much hassle and nickel and diming, we decided to get rid of Sprint. Not only will they NOT unlock our older, paid for phones, they will also not allow us to break this lease. They just kept telling my sister that they'll unlock the phones in 48 hours, then 5 days, now another 10 days....BS Sprint, we know your scam. So we now have 3 bricks for phones (thank God we got them half price!). Other phone companies can unlock your phone right away, no need to take days and weeks. As for the Cat phone, my sister said she will keep it because Sprint wants her to pay $500 for the phone AND RETURN IT TO SPRINT, in order to get out of this lease. Are you serious?! The phone is not getting returned, will pay the monthly lease payment only. All other lines are getting cancelled by next week. Though by the reviews and by Sprints actions so far, I believe they will continue billing my sister the 5 lines even though the request to cancel has been made, no trust or faith in Sprint. I fully expect my sister to have more billing issues and bogus charges in future. What a sorry excuse for a business, very shady practice. We won't be paying Sprint another dime, we lost well over $400 with these con artists. The sales reps are hired to say and do anything to sign you up and especially get you on a lease so they can hold you hostage. They are also illegally refusing to unlock eligible phones. Whatever you do, NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFO. They will steal from you at will with bogus charges, etc. (read the thousands of reviews!). Fortunately we paid cash as we signed up, so they won't be having easy access to her bank account. They can send us to collections, we won't pay for their scam. DON'T SIGN ON WITH SPRINT. I think they are literally trying to fleece as much money from the public before they merge with TMOBILE. I hope Sprint goes bankrupt and that the merger fails. There needs to be ANOTHER class action lawsuit against this disgraceful company.

Sprint - Bait and switch tactics. Games to trick you.

1.0
Details
I have been a Sprint customer since 2013 and am very familiar with their bait and switch tactics. They will quote one rate and increase your plan mid lease and you’re stuck because you are still in the lease! They apply “promos” but they’re not full lease term and they don’t tell you this. Then when you try to cancel they purposely act like they are resolving issues and just put you on hold! After over an hour they come back...we can’t do anything for you unless you upgrade!!! Then you ask to cancel. “There’s no one available right now in that department. “ Thus company is so slimy, if I could ever get a manager to call me back, I’m canceling .

Remember the old army term "fubar?" This is the state Sprint has been in for the last few years. Your situation is reminiscent of the problems we had with Sprint.

They never acknowledge their mistakes and seemingly now make it a matter of course to send customer phone calls to some foreign land with reps who are unable to speak, much less really understand the English language. At one time, many years ago when calling Sprint we would get somebody in another US state to whom speaking and understanding what you were saying came as a matter of course. After our experience with Sprint and their demands for money for which they were unable to explain the "why" we have been with Verizon with no problems, at least not yet. The bills and phone calls from Sprint demanding payment for something we knew we did not owe were thrown in the trash, etc.

and never paid---it's the principle of the thing. We still have excellent credit, so it didn't harm us.

Remember, never pay for something you know you don't owe. Find another cell phone carrier, now.

Sprint - Worst company I have ever dealt with

1.0
Details
#Sprint WORST COMPANY EVER!!! I switched to Sprint from AT&T and provided my own phone so that I would qualify for the promotion they have currently(port your number and provide your own device from AT&T or Verizon...get 1 year unlimited call, text and data free...just pay taxes). The first time I called customer service to set everything up I was on the phone with them for over 1 hour and 37 minutes. I was told that everything was finally set up and I also ordered the Sprint Drive device and service...paid $38.00 for "taxes or whatever", $4.00 for a sim card to be sent to me and was advised that everything was being shipped to my residence. I started getting text messages on my phone saying that I was in danger of exceeding my plan's 2 gig data limit...I was supposed to be on the unlimited plan....so I called customer service again where I was transferred to 4 different people...was on the phone for a total of 1 hour and 17 minutes...just to be advised that whomever had set my account up previously "didn't do it right" and that they would have to escalate my account to upper management so that I could be switched to the unlimited plan that I was told I was on. I was advised that I would receive a phone call in 3 to 7 days to tell me what upper management "decides to do" my account. The next day...I have been tracking the Sprint Drive online through UPS...and it was to be delivered by 8pm. I get a voicemail around noon from Sprint stating that my request had been processed and they have contacted UPS and had them return the Drive to sender....I NEVER REQUESTED THAT.... So I called Sprint AGAIN and was transferred 3 times....the 3rd person I spoke with, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, stated, "they all busy with customers now" and that I could "leave her a message for them and get a call back within 5 days". That round of musical agents only lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes...just to be advised that I could order another Sprint Drive...uummm NO! and that I would only be credited $17.00 as a courtesy to my account for the trouble...WHAT ABOUT THE $38.00 I PAID THE FIRST DAY???? and A COURTESY?!?!? I was also advised that in reference to my cellular plan...they have to assign my number to the $45.00 plan for now until we hear from management about my unlimited plan....Fast forward to today (4 days from initial port) my bill is over $60.00 and my internet is EXTREMELY SLOW!!! UPDATE!!! I received an email and a notice from Sprint today advising me that I am not allowed to have the promotion and that I have to either sign up for a full priced post paid plan or I can choose to Port my number to another company. This entire promotion is a scam...it's ridiculous! I have copies of the advertisement as well as photos of promotional literature with all the fine print… UPDATE 2!!!!! .I have switched phone companies now and they have "blacklisted" my phone's IMEI....My Google Pixel 2 XL that I brought with me to their service...I purchased the phone through Google as an unlocked phone...I don't owe Sprint anything...they said I have to contact some lady in their admin office to get it unlocked or whatever....I have left messages and no response... should I call a lawyer now??

Sprint - Nondisclosure of Autopay +

After visiting Sprint no less than 6 times and getting IN WRITING what the charges would be to move our 5 lines from US Cellular to Sprint we decided to make the move. The final visit was with a district manager, whom we felt couldbe trusted. My hubby had been with US Cellular since he first got a cell, like forever! Switching was a big deal as he values loyalty. I had previously been with Sprint for 15 years and actually had stellar service all the way around. The move was "promised" to save us $100.00 and give us unlimited everything. My daughter had broken off an engagement recently and the guy hadn't taken it well, moving was also going to assist with him not being able to stalk her so easily as he had hacked her phone and regardless of what we did, he got through. They settled the costs and had several specials on phones, of course, we were changing both our girls to I phone 7's which were lease one for $33.00 get the 2nd for $5.00. They were out of the 7's at their location at the time and the guy left helping us told us the same deal extended to the 8's. He also told us this after my daughter came in upset thinking she was going to have to keep her same phone number for a few more days, so I am beginning to think he just felt sorry for her. However, we expected the same cost just the same. When the bill arrives we're expecting $216+ tax, I mean within a few bucks five or take, but not $300. So I call customer service and they say it will likely take a few months for all discounts to take effect, check back. I wait, nothing. I call and they say it should have happened and they can see the i phone 8's were on special but they don't have the power to give the discount, it has to be handled at the store we purchased them at. They then tell me about AUTOPAY. I said excuse me? She said $5.00 per line is being added to your bill because you're not using our autopay service. I told her we never agreed to any auto pay, nor would we and being fined for not using their auto pay should have been disclosed! She said they tell everyone when they sign up. The *** they do!!! My husband would never have agreed to switch had that been the case. So she again said we would have to deal with the store we signed up. I of course have been back to the store and they said they have to pull video footage to see what we were infact told. These people are headed for a class action lawsuit! I know many people who have gone through the same thing with them, have not had terms disclosed that the cost would not be as discussed unless you utilize autopay. There's a lot of us out there, people with the power to make noise!

Sprint - Fooled Twice, But Never Again

1.0
Details
I was a Verizon customer for the past 12 years, but recently got suckered in by Sprint's "Free Year" which turned out, for me and my son, to be anything but. I have a backup phone with Freedom Pop which runs on Sprint, so I thought (mistakenly) that Sprint would be ok, forgetting that since my Freedom Pop plan is data limited (think maybe 3-4 GB/month), I pretty much just leave it on Wifi all the time. Ok, my mistake, I really, really should have burned a GB or two testing out that data connectivity more thoroughly than I did. Since my son and I prefer removable-battery phones, we both I still have Galaxy S5s, and these were not compatible, so ok, I just bought a couple more refurb Sprint phones. Fine. Had to order SIM cards too, still ok. It was a horrible, long drawn out nightmare where I spoke with I can't even count how many customer service reps, probably around the globe, and definitely almost around the clock, but our phone numbers were finally ported over. Ok, still fine, since I'd be saving so much money! Ummm, yeah. No. Day 1 was ok, since we were mostly home and connected to wifi, not to mention it was late afternoon by the time the Sprint phones actually worked. Day 2 we went to a baseball game, and the signal was actually pretty good at the stadium. Day 3, a Monday (I'd deliberately waited until the weekend to deal with the porting, since it did, as expected, take up most of my Saturday), I dropped my son off at school, no signal. No signal on my commute, except for a brief flicker when I passed the state fair grounds, of all places. An MLB stadium, I can understand, but state fair is bustling just 2 weeks a year, with random events drawing much smaller crowds the rest of the time. But whatever. Anyway, get to work, no signal. So, no data when not connected to wifi anywhere but state fair and the baseball stadium...No. Just no. No matter how much money we'd save, for that kind of "free" we might as well not even have smartphones. Even dumb phones, really, since text and calling were also iffy, and this is right in the middle of a major city!!! One where Sprint assured me the signal was great! Turns out that the free year plan includes NO roaming data, and as soon as your phone even thinks it might want to connect to a non-Sprint tower (which is always), off it goes. There was another plan I wisely chose to pass on, the $25/month/line forever (or until they decide to stop it, and/or the T-Mobile merger kills it, or Sprint mercifully, and deservedly, goes out of business) plan, that actually charges for roaming. Ha, this is the exact issue that caused my earlier breakup with Sprint, when I, back around the turn of the millennium, deserted AT&T for the lure of a no-contract, monthly plan (this was long before such plans were common, and prepaid wasn't even that widely available). One month, that's all I lasted, since I got my bill and saw $400 (not kidding) of roaming charges when I had never, not once, left my home area. This time, we lasted just the 2 days, and Monday night my son and I went straight to our local Verizon store and practically begged them to take us back. It turns out our old plan was grandfathered, so we had to switch to a new unlimited data plan which might be a few bucks more, even, but by this point we didn't even care. Yes, a whole year with no cell phone bill would have been great, but then again, I could save even more money if I gave up our apartment and we moved into my car. Or if we gave up buying groceries and took up dumpster diving. Some lifestyle downgrades, if not necessitated by dire emergency (job loss, etc.), are just not worth it, and I consider Sprint's non-free non-data to be a downgrade I'm not willing to make, even if they pay me to switch, which may have to be their next step if their service and coverage continues to slide. And the (I HOPE!!!) final chapter, today, a bill for the 2 days of non-service - turns out my allegedly free year wound up costing $40 for 2 days. Not even going to try to fight it, since I do not care to waste any more of my life on hold or being passed from rep to rep when I am 99.99999999% certain that they'd come up with some fine print justifying the entire amount. In fact, I'm fully expecting them to tack on another $5 since I cancelled my autopay, but I am not trusting that company anymore, ever. They fooled me twice ( thought surely the coverage and service must have improved in 18 years and in a different city? but noooooo), but there just isn't going to be a third time. SPRINT SUCKS.

Sprint lied to me as well. Told me they had Sprint towers all around where I live and that according to their service availability map I would get great service at my physical home address.

All LIES!!! No towers anywhere near me. I got 0% service at my home and their solution was their wonder of all wonders....the MAGIC BOX. Sure I got one and hooked it up and about 50% of the time I got 1 bar and the other 50% of time I got 0 bars.

When I did get 1 bar, it was because I was able to connect briefly with an Verison or AT&T tower. Why hasn't anyone filed a major lawsuit against this company? I would jump on the wagon first thing.

Sprint shouldn't be in business. They lie to potential customers to get them to sign up with their company and then, well then you find out everything they told you was a lie and they won't release you from the contract you signed...that is without charging you a hefty termination fee and restocking fees on each of your devices.

A couple of thoughts: if you---or anyone---is that stretched, money-wise then you really cannot afford much less need a cell phone. Also, you might wish to re-consider enrolling in ANY company's auto pay.

Very dangerous, on the same level as using a debit card instead of a credit card.

Anything that allows some third party to just take money from your account could seriously affect your bank account when/if things go awry and you feel you don't owe the money but they do, etc. As for Sprint, best to see them in the rear-view mirror.

Maria S
#1564039
@Machele

I didn't say I was that stretched. I just wanted to save some money, I'm a bit stretched, as are many of us, and cheaper would have been nicer, cutting costs when possible is always a good thing even if you're super-wealthy.

Sprint's non-service for free wasn't much improvement on having no phone at all, also a free option, but one I do not need (and am not willing) to take at this point. I'm pretty pissed that I spent so much time (also the money for the new/used phones, but I'm returning those to the sellers so should recoup that, at least), have a possibly higher Verizon bill now, and that final Sprint bill, but mostly I'm just pissed at myself for having fallen for Sprint's claims twice in one millennium.

Also the auto-pay was a credit card, I don't let anyone have monthly access to my bank account. Even though I will be using that same card to pay that one time final bill, it will be strictly a one-time use, and Sprint will not have further access to it as I will remove it from my list of payment methods as soon as that single payment goes through.

I became a sprint customer for the second time two years ago. I used to work for radio shack and always swore by sprint. never had an issue until now. took 40.00/mo. plan. somehow, with all the taxes and fees, that plan suddenly cost me 70-75/mo. I could see fees for late payment but that is usually very small. the plan was for two years to pay off phone and 40/month unlimited. BOUGHT AT THE SAME TIME!! yet, suddenly I get a bill in june of this year that my bill was 90+. they said the promo ended, but yet I still had two payments on the phone. should have ended together. I chose to switch to metro which has a WAY better deal with free phone. called sprint and asked several times if I paid my phone off, do I owe anything else? They tell me no! that we were finished. one month later, I get a bill for 65.15. when I called sprint, they said it was prorated. PRORATED? YOU PAY YOUR BILL IN ADVANCE FOR THE UPCOMING MONTH. SO WHAT IS THIS PRORATED. Told them that I was told I did no owe anything and they said I was told wrong. They have now STOLEN 65.15 from my bank account as of yesterday. I am contacting better business bureau and my bank. once that money is cleared, I am calling my bank and stating I did not approve that transaction as I am disputing the bill with sprint. how could a company that was once the best out there suddenly become the worst. btw, metro pcs? 50.00 PERIOD for what sprint wants to charge me plus 32 gigs storage as opposed to 10 with sprint and phone is FREE. NO PAYMENTS. get with the program sprint
